What I HATE About Photography

I was attending a "better your business" webinar, and our instructor asked us the craziest question. She asked "What do you HATE about the industry you are in?" Wait, what?!? She asked us to really think about what we hated about our industry, then what we could do to change that or make it better! (Mind blown!) That was a total light bulb moment for me, and I knew EXACTLY what I was going to do!

So, here it is. Are you ready?

What I HATE About Photography is that more often than not our photographs never see the light of day!!! We invest SO much money on beautiful portraits of the ones we hold most dear to us, only to have them tucked away in a desk drawer! (The USB drive, where all photos go to die!) Prints or photo albums are not much better! Where are the prints from your last photo session? They are probably in a slightly larger desk drawer. (Prints, A.K.A. photo purgatory) What about the album? Where is that guy? I am sure he is tucked safely away on a bookshelf somewhere only to be pulled out when grandma comes to visit. (Oh wait, I sent her the exact same one for Christmas!) I mean, unless you like to pull out your photo album every time someone stops by, then I think it is safe to assume that the photos in there are just as lonely as the others. (Ok, please don't get me wrong, I am not saying that you shouldn't buy photo albums. Personally, I believe albums are important because those are what will most likely be passed down to the kids.) Your family photos are beautiful and deserve to be enjoyed! They represent the MOST important aspect of our lives, so why not display them!

Ok, now the more important question...

What Did I Do About It??

Well, my friend, I decided to create a wall styling service! Through my wall styling service I am able to take you from in front of the camera to a completed, decorated, and styled wall in your home! Imagine, if you will, an "add to cart" button was just added to the bottom of your Pinterest board!! No more trying to piece together and replicate what you saw on Pinterest! I have done that for you!! I have styled a couple of different walls that you can simply browse through and purchase the exact look you love!

What is the process?

This is a 5 step process. The phone evaluation, the pre-shoot consultation, the photoshoot, the post-shoot viewing and ordering session, and delivery and installation.

Phone evaluation:

This is our initial contact where we get to know each other a little, and when we will book your pre-shoot consultation.

Pre-shoot consultation:

I start by meeting up with you in your home. We will discuss your specific style and taste and the wall you would like transformed. At this time we will also discuss the details of your photo session and book your shoot along with your viewing and ordering session!

The Photoshoot:

This is when I get the pleasure of photographing your family's connection with each other in an authentic and natural way. The photoshoot can be done in the intimacy of your own home or at a predetermined location. I am then able to transform those connections and emotions into beautiful wall art!

Post-shoot Viewing and Ordering session:

In this session, you will be able to pick and choose your favorite images from the shoot and view your digital gallery wall! I style and arrange a digital gallery wall so you can see exactly how it will look hanging on your wall. From there, we can mix and match frame styles along with canvases and typography to create your very own custom gallery wall!

Delivery and installation:

I know your time is valuable, therefore, I hand deliver and install each gallery wall personally so you are left with absolutely no hassle or confusion. I strive to make the process as easy for you as possible! I pride myself on being a full service business!

If you have a wall in your home that needs a little love and attention, or are decorating your brand new home, I hope you consider letting me help. I would love to take some of the stress and overwhelm that is involved with decorating or redecorating off your shoulders. Contact me today so we can get started together!

XOXO ~ Christy
